Let me first start off this day's post by announcing that PAUL CHEATED YESTERDAY!!! He loses points for cheating, but gains them back because he fessed up. He admitted to me last night during dinner that he had TWO CROUTONS!! "One little one and one bigger one," to be exact. The guy has to be in his dress blues for a wedding sword ceremony in March so he better stick to the plan!!! :)
I'm noticing a trend with this diet and that is every meal is DELICIOUS! Last night for dinner we had the most amazing turkey patties. At GFS, they sell these huge containers of crazy spices and we bought the Spicy Taco Seasoning. My chef husband mixed that in with the ground turkey and then sauteed green peppers, onions and sun dried tomatoes (not packed in oil, of course, because that's sinful) to put on top. Then he steamed broccoli and carrots to go with it. Green tea was for dessert. 17 Day Dieters of the past say that you stop craving sweets and carbs at some point. I may be the exception!
Day 2 Menu
Wake up: hot lemon water (yesterday I made the mistake of using a quarter of a lemon instead of an eighth. I will never make that mistake twice! Today's eighth of a lemon was much more tolerable.)
Breakfast: Coffee (it's going to take a while before I will "stop needing coffee!") and the same egg white omelet as yesterday because it's absolutely amazing. It will from now on be referred to as the Fleischman Favorite Omelet.
Mid Morning Snack: Plain Greek style yogurt, sweetened with agave nectar and with fresh blueberries mixed in and green tea
Lunch: a super salad (lettuce, spinach, carrots, cucumbers, green onions, tomatoes) with a can of tuna on top and drizzles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing (1 T. olive oil, 2 T. balsamic vinegar), a cutie and green tea #2.
Afternoon snack: baggie of baby carrots and a serving of peach Kefir.
Dinner: Grilled chicken breast marinated in fat free Italian dressing and steamed veggies. Paul works at the Pine Club tonight so he's going to ask the chef to specially prepare him this meal. His big goal tonight is not to drink his one allotted alcoholic drink. Place your bets now! I told him that if he drinks his last cup of green tea instead, it will serve as the action of drinking his alcoholic drink and will be kind of the same thing. He looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.
Dessert: GREEN TEA!
Notes: I already have stopped feeling like a slug, which I'm so pumped about. Also, I've begun the tally for the amount of trips to the bathroom so I can find out the percentage of my workday that is spent in there. Two so far today, which is less than yesterday, thank goodness!
Day 1 DONE!
